Class Information

Ballet

At the Jenny Brennan School of Dance, children can start Ballet from two and a half years. At this level the class is based on exploring movement to music whilst capturing the child's imagination. As the child progresses through
the grades, so does their sense of discipline and vocabulary of steps.
Ballet will help a child's posture, confidence and self-assurance.
Exams are taken throughout the year with RAD. Children studying the higher grades are now eligible to use their exam results towards UCAS points.

Tap

Tap dancing is a fun class - but also one of the hardest disciplines rhythmically, and children may start this from two and a half years. Children develop musicality and it literally 'keeps you on your toes'!
Exams are taken throughout the year with the ISTD and children studying the higher grades may now use their exam results towards UCAS points.

Modern

Modern is a development from Ballet and at the Jenny Brennan School of Dance we follow the ISTD syllabus. Children are introduced to different styles of dance including a taster of contemporary, lyrical, jazz and hip-hop. Modern is a very important discipline to improve technique, strength and co-ordination and is a must for
the keen dancer.
Exams are taken throughout the year and children studying the higher grades may now use their exam results towards
UCAS points.

Limbering

Limbering is very important to a dancer to improve and maintain flexibility and strength. Students learn the safe way to stretch and exercises to maintain healthy, strong muscles.

Musical Theatre

Musical theatre brings dance movement, singing and drama altogether. Children can develop these skills in the classes, learning songs from the musicals and building confidence with acting.
We have a junior and senior class.

Jazz

Jazz is developed from the Modern style and in the classes we dance to current music learning different styles.
We have a junior and senior class.
